After my date with Jordan, I oddly
saw Gatsby’s mansion lit up very brightly. It looked unoccupied and I was a
little bit confused of what was going on. All of a sudden, Gatsby came across
the lawn and surprised me. He seemed a little agitated and desperate to make me
happy. I assumed that he was trying to kiss up to me because he wanted me to
follow through with the plan of inviting Daisy to my house for tea. He was
going to walk in when she was there. I was going to agree with his plan even if
he didn’t kiss up to me. Immediately when I followed through with the plan, he
offered me to get someone to cut my grass. He also offered me the chance to
make some money by joining him in some business he does on the side—business
that does not involve Meyer Wolfshiem. I was slightly offended that Gatsby
wanted to pay me for arranging the meeting with Daisy but I still agreed to call
Daisy and invite her to my house. Gatsby was nervous because it was raining on
the day of the arrangement. When I brought her into the house, I saw that
Gatsby had suddenly disappeared. There was a knock at the door. Gatsby entered,
after walking around my house in the rain. Gatsby knocked my clock over because
he was so nervous, but I didn’t get mad. It was a weird meeting at first but
after I left them together, the meeting turned into a great time for the two of
them.
